Walking through the back streets of Copenhagen, there is a small little shop on a cornet. If you blink, you will easily walk straight past.
Coming through the front door, you’re greeted by a Ramen machine. Instantly I’m reminded of Japan. Selecting my options I grab my ticket and head to the counter to pay.
Paying the bill, I turn to find myself in the corner; to await my food. Sitting there I take in the surroundings, looking at the Japanese theme of the bar; I find myself loving the decor. As I wait, people continue to flock into the store, and the place quickly becomes cosy; as people jossel for a place to sit.
Shino Ramen
It doesn’t take long for the food to come out. Looking at the bowl in front of me, the aroma of the seaweed seeps into me. Reminding me once again of Japan. The Ramen that I’ve ordered comes with extra meat and egg, so there are two halves of egg and four slices of pork.
The eggs are cooked perfectly, with the pork tender and juicy. The saltiness of the broth, is definitely coming through; and it only adds to the meal. I’m reminded of how much I’ve missed good Ramen.
The noodles are nice and firm, although a little bunched up. But nothing that can’t be sorted by sticking the chop sticks into the noodles and shaking them apart.
Finishing up the eggs, pork and noodles; I find myself drinking the broth from the bowl, to savour the last of the meal. As I drink the last of the broth, I find myself happy with the meal that I’ve just had. Content and full.
Overall, the food was great, the decor fits in with the style of food and the price was good. 104 DKK ($22 AUD)
