Granola

PIN

The street is awash with people. Stalls have been put out, and all the cafes have extended on to the street. I didn’t plan to, but somehow I’ve managed to come to this cafe on the right day. With an open market and street full of people. 1950’s music is playing in the street and it gives the feeling of early era.

I’ve found a gorgeous little cafe called Granola. Taking a seat outside so that I can take in the scenery and everything happening in the street market, I browse through the menu.

As the name suggests, there are a number of granola and muesli options on the menu; that sound great. However I do notice a chilli scramble eggs, which is a favourite of mine from Australia; so I settle for that.  I would however like to go back for the granola and muesli.

Chilli Eggs
When the dish arrives, it does look a little basic; compared to the flare of some Australian dishes. There is a decent portion size of eggs, with some bread and sausages.

The eggs are soft and fluffy, with a good sprinkle of chilli of the top; giving it that little bit of spice. The eggs, with the bread are a great mix; and it doesn’t take long for them to be gone.

Biting into the sausage, it is juicy and well cooked. With lots of flavour, it is a good addition to the meal. With a little bit of spice to it, it only adds to the chilli that is on the eggs.

So while the food looked a little basic, I was happy with my choice and would love to come back to try some of their other food.

The Coffee
The coffee wasn’t very acidic, and had a subtle smokey taste to it. Some may find the smokey flavour, gives that slightly burnt taste; however I don’t believe that was the beans being burnt. But rather the falvour of the coffee.

The Hot Chocolate
The hot chocolate was good. It was silky and smooth. The chocolate taste wasn’t over powering, which means I could probably sit here all day drinking hot chocolates; but that probably isn’t a good idea.

Overall, I’ve been happy with the food and the experience. The street market has definitely added to the morning, but I will still be back to try some of the other foods. It was a standard price compared to most other places, coming in at  180 DKK ($38 AUD)
