Stepping off a small street, the cafe is warm and inviting.
The decor is minimalist and quite unique. With unusual paintings hanging on the wall, there are a small number of tables available.
The place is quite and tranquil, with the hum of the coffee machine chiming in from time to time; reminding you that you’re in a cafe. There is music playing faintly in the background. Instrumentals with guitars and trumpets; it only adds to the character.
They have a range of coffee to choose from, I selected the traditional espresso blend. While also ordering a hot chocolate.
Hot Chocolate
The hot chocolate has a smooth texture. While chocolatey, it isn’t over powering. It isn’t a sweet hot chocolate, but rather a subtle hint of chocolate, balanced with milk and given a little hint of froth. Making it creamy and easily drinkable. It is the kind of hot chocolate, where you could have a couple; and not feel overwhelmed by the chocolate.
Espresso
The coffee has a strong bitey taste. With a strong coffee aroma, that envelopes you as you drink. There is a subtle under tone that comes through as you sip. There is a thin film across the top of the coffee, giving your first few sips a creamy texture. It was slightly cooler then I expected, which meant I was able to dive right in and experience the flavours. As I finish my coffee there are but a few grains in the bottom of the cup. As the taste lingers in my mouth, I am happy with the experience and the coffee.
They have a small assortment of pastries, and a selection of teas; should you wish. I didn’t try anything else, but something tells me I will be back.
