As bustling little restaurant down a side alley over near parliament station. Rice, Paper, Scissors is an energetic Asian fusion restaurant.
I was shown to my seat at the bar towards the back. I’m next too the serving area, so I’m able to see all the food that is coming out; and it looks amazing.
The first thing that I notice is the music. The the 80’s and 90’s old skool music playing, it gives the place a fantastic vibe, where the staff are singing and dancing as they work.
Ordering my food, it doesn’t take long to come out (particularly as I’m next to the serving area). The roti comes with a peanut sauce, which is great; however the bread is a little crackly for my likely, but is something I know most people would like.
The Asian greens come out, while they might not look impressive; the sauce that comes with them gives them an added touch of flavor. They have been cooked so that there is a still a slight crunch to the beans, which is great.
Diving into my ribs next, they are good. While not a standard meal that I would expect from an Asian fusion place, I was happy with the flavors. The meat was a little bear, but that might have just been the cut.
After finishing off all this, I was still a little hungry; so went back for the chicken wings. These were better, the wings had a little bit of ‘kick’ to the sauce which was nice. The wings also helped tide over the hungriness and I was feeling a little more satisfied.
Finishing off the night I had some ice cream, which was the stand out for the night. It tasted incredible and the presentation was amazing.
All and all the night was good. It was a great atmosphere, great music and good food. It was probably a little pricier then I would have expected, or compared to some other places. However it looked like it might be cheaper with the number of people you have, as there are sharing options.
