It is a quaint little place, tucked away in the back streets of Copenhagen. There is a raw earthy feel to the place as I walk in. I had never heard of a porridge bar, so this will be a new experience; but I’m looking forward to what they have.
The place is full of people, and the sun is shinning down outside. Browsing over the menu, there is a small list of options. However there is a feeling that it is all good and healthy for me.
They sell a selection of goods, just to the side of the counter as well; so you can take some porridge home if you want as well.
There is porridge for the morning, and salads for lunch. I arrived around lunch time (midday), but I thought I would still try there porridge’s; seeing as that is what they are known for.
Apple and Yogurt porridge
The presentation is great, with a portion of apple and yogurt on the side. The porridge is nestled underneath. The coldness of the apple and yogurt, with the heat of the porridge is a little much at first. However after a while, the porridge cools down, and I’m able to eat it.
There were a couple of little salt clumps in the porridge, which give a salty taste; however the porridge otherwise is good. The texture between the porridge, the nuts, the apple and the yogurt is great.
I got small bowl, which is a modest size. There is also a large size, for those of you that might want something a little bigger. For today however, the small was a good size.
The cutlery and decor definitely fit in with the feel of the place and the food that they are serving.
Overall, it has been good, between the price, food and location it is definitely somewhere that I would like to come back to. I would love to try some of the other items on the menu as well.
It is definitely a great place for healthy conscious people.
