I’ve been to Jethro before and it was fantastic. So I thought it was time to go back and try some other things on their menu. Last time I was there I had the porridge and it was amazing, and there is definitely still a lot on the menu that I would like to try.
On today’s menu was waffles. I will say it has been a while since I’ve had waffles, however something about it stood out; and I thought I would give it ago. (For those that don’t know me, I generally don’t eat sweet things for breakfast.)
Once again I was not disappointed. The textures and taste of the waffles were amazing, it had something that looked like a cornflakes (possibly the honeyjob curmble) and a whole pouched pear. The pear was a little hard to cut, but other than that; it did however taste amazing mixed in with everything else.
I had been a little concerned that it might be overly sweet or drenched in maple syrup, however it had a great combination and I wasn’t left with an overpowering sense of sweetness.
Green Waffles
With a saffron poached pear, blueberry sauce, honeyjob crumble and mascarpone cream.
The staff are always lovely, and friendly when I go and I still love the decor.
