It was a busy day today, but I managed to get onto the communal table. After a lovely chat with the two ladies next to me about their adorable baby, who was fast asleep; I begun to study the menu.
One thing that I love about this place, the menu is vegetarian/vegan friendly; however you have the option to add meat and other items if you wish. I think this is a nice change, rather than people having to remove items from a meal, you can simply add the extra bits if you want them. I think this is a great idea and concept. Well done.
After the porridge last week, while I still felt like something warm; I wanted to move away from oats and cereals.
In the end I settled on the Spicy Braised Bean (It wasn’t very spicy, although I do love my hot food) which was vegan friendly, however I did add some chorizo for some extra kick.
Spicy Braised Beans
Spicy braised beans and legumes with tomato, mushroom, zucchini, capsicum, chilli, sauteed greens and sourdough.
I will say, this hit the spot. Sitting there with my book, the textures and flavors were great. I’m continually told that vegan or vegiterian food isn’t tastey (yes I added chorizo, but still) a thousand blessings definitely shows people that it is anything but.
There was so much more on this menu that I would like to try out, so I will be heading back to see what else is good.
I got my standard hot chocolate and espresso. The hot chocolate was good (I have better) and the coffee was good. Too often I find coffees can be too hot or even taste a little burnt, but they’ve managed to hit the spot with their drinks.
When it came to the decor and atmosphere, there was a vibrant and busy feeling, however you were still able to enjoy the conversation with the person next to you, or read a good book if you like. They have definitely done with with the decor as well, and the finishings and cutlery were great.
Well done all round A Thousand Blessings.
